Ilume is a startup focused on building a personalised pet health system designed to promote correct and healthy feeding patterns for dogs. As the product evolved, ensuring accuracy and reliability of the data collected by devices in the field became critical.
The first step was a detailed audit of the existing data, which uncovered gaps and inconsistencies. Based on these insights, a comprehensive remote logging and monitoring system was introduced to track device behaviour in real time and highlight potential issues as they emerged.
To further strengthen reliability, the data delivery system was re-engineered to use proven, industry-standard protocols. This work spanned multiple layers of the product – from device firmware through the API backend to the user-facing application – ensuring consistency and stability across the ecosystem.
The result was a far more dependable platform. Devices performed more reliably in the field, data capture became significantly more robust, and the accuracy of insights available to pet owners improved. Ultimately, these technical improvements translated into better health outcomes for the dogs whose wellbeing the system is designed to support.
