Nubila.AI is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) designed to collect hyperlocal environmental, weather, and ESG data through a growing fleet of sensors and weather stations. With more than 20,000 devices deployed worldwide and tens of millions of requests each month, the challenge lay in ensuring both growth and stability at scale.
To strengthen network effects, new mechanisms were introduced to encourage participation and data sharing. A robust referral system and rewards for social sharing helped expand the ecosystem, bringing in new contributors and partners.
On the infrastructure side, system stability was reinforced by implementing API usage limits. These safeguards ensured fair usage across diverse partners, preventing overconsumption by a few while maintaining reliable access for the many.
Alongside these initiatives, continuous improvements were made to the backend architecture – optimising performance to handle rapid growth while maintaining resilience. The result was a platform capable of sustaining global scale without compromising fairness, accessibility, or speed.
